What a fantastic piece and a great way to mark the beginning of your new adventure! "Surrounding myself with others who even have the words “sabbatical” or “career break” as part of their vocabulary, let alone have lived it, has been exponentially helpful in increasing my confidence about my current life path." I absolutely loved and agree with this sentiment!
Thank you!! I totally think that substack/connecting with others like you who share their journeys has been a huge part of normalizing this all in my head!
For the upcoming two trips I’m working with a partner company/local tour provider to make it more seamless because the destinations involve driving between cities and are a bit more complex! But in the past I’ve organized single-city group trips myself.
And yay! (Almost) welcome to the sabbatical life :)
i laugh/cried at the 5x5 storage unit 🥹 i have one too!!
hahah it’s too real and relatable for fellow nomads🥲

Honduras. Are you heading to Roatan for your scuba diving? I spent a lovely month there years ago.
Yes! I’ll be at Utila Dive Center. Have heard nothing but great things from everyone’s who’s spent time diving on those islands, I can’t wait :)
I never went to Utila but Roatan is gorgeous! The water is absolutely crystal clear. Loved it.
Nice! Congrats! My last day is June 7 so I’ll be a few weeks behind you!
Question - how are you organizing these trips? I’m interested to know more about that 😊
